Here are some pictures of our apartment, not nearly as bad as we had expected. We though like Haiti.

We went on a day trip with several of the missionary couples one Saturday and rode a train to a
small town and then went to supposedly the largest mall in the world. I has the largest food court that is for sure.

Inside the old car we rode in
The real steam engine, smoke and all
ON the way back 4 musicians came into the car and played old brazilian folk songs taht everybody knew except us americans.

Grandma's knee is still giving her lots of trouble and she stays home most days, not walking. We finally have an office in the "alojamento" kind of like a motel where temple patrons from out of town come and stay for affordable prices. They converted on single room for us.

The food court in this mall. 500 feet long about 40 food vendors around the court.
Lofamento office, now air conditioned
