Pictures of a Wonder of the World

With some hesitation that you might all think that we are on a vacation here, I am including some pictures of our 1st and only tourist trip in Brazil. Because the other doc will be leaving in July with no replacement for him, we went now with a group of others. As you will see the scenery is beautiful.
At the airport in Iguasu they use farm tractors to pull things around. Cheaper and work just as well.
This is fromthe plane as wel prepared to land in iguasu. Jungle and the Parana river, the one that creates the foz.
The difference with these falls and most others is that the falls are not at the end of the river, but along a side so they are spread out for over 2 miles.
There are tiers of falls falling twice to get to the bottom is in some places. Others there is just one fall.
Weather is usually warm, with temperatures in the winter getting down to the high teens in Celsius.
This is one end of the falls and is just massive.

This is called the devil's throat.
We went on a boat and got under some smaller falls and got soaked. Sue was right in the back next to the boat driver and she was laughing so hard, as you know how, and he enjoyed it som much that he was doing donuts in the river on the way back to the dock.
The boat driver. They wear foul weather gear under the falls and are the only ones not soaked to the skin.
The group on the left the Elder Dille he is a nurse and works at the CTM(MTC). They were in our ward in San Antonio, but we didn't remember it until we started to talk about where we have lived. Nest on the back is Elder Jeppson, a retired Electrical Engineer who works the PEF. IN front of him is his wife Sister Jeppson. Next the Old Fat Guy in the back and his sweet wife in front. In the back next is Sister Dille, and then the Clark's who work in the São Paulo Temple. They were on their 2 week break the Temple being cleaned etc.
The Park on the Argentina side is so large and the distances so long that they have little trains that go from one end to the other. The Brazilian side uses buses and the distances are greater there.

I wanted to try a video clip for the falls so here it is.

  1. That is really cool. Katy and Kylie loved the video and wanted to watch it over and over. I can't believe it went on for over two miles. Is this where the James Bond scene with Jaws going over the falls was supposed to happen? Sounds like you guys are making the most of it. We love you.
