Just wanted to post some pictures.
The first are a couple of pictures of the Quad in the building complex where we live.
It really is beautiful and one has to take care that the beauty doesn't become common and unappreciated. In life we tend to take for granted that with which we are familiar daily. The lesson is to appreciate and be thankful for each of God's tender mercies, and there are in our lives innumerable of those.
Sue Ann, Kerma Hill(husband the other AMA), and Lynette Clark(She and her husband are temple missionaries) in a bowery under the trees above.
Fellow missionaries, the night before they leave for home. Friends in only a month or two. They live in Henderson Nev. not too far from Lisa.
And finally we went to lunch with a member of the church , a dermatologist here who went to BYU to do some research on Malaria with a BYU professor and just started attending church with her apartment friends. She was sitting in one meeting and a brazilian came and sat down next to her and asked her what ward she was from in Brazil, and swhe said "Oh, I'm not a member of the church". The next day the missionaries were at her door and in 2 weeks she was babptized. After being in the church a year at BYU she decided to serve a mission and served as a welfare services missionary in Salvador.(She had her MD before she went to BYU)
She helps us with our funny looking rashes. A real sweetheart with so many "coincidences" in her church life that you know that it isn't coincidence. We went to a local mall and ate at Appleby's. It is more expensive here than in US.
This picture is of a dominoe course that they are having a pool worth about $60,000 if you guess how long it will take for all the tictac containers to fall. It costs a few bucks to enter, I didn't.

  1. It looks so beautiful down there. Is the big tree in the top photo the one outside your window? Also, Jakey would love the tic tac dominoes. He just built his own multi-tiered domino stack tonight. Keep the info coming.
